Tighean Innse Gall is recruiting new members to support local housing needs

Tighean Innse Gall (TIG) is looking for new members to sign up to the registered society and support local housing needs. Get in touch by 1 November 2024.

TIG is reporting another great year of supporting households and communities across the Outer Hebrides in its 2023/2024 annual report. During the last year TIG supported over 1,400 people to heat their homes and saved their clients £208,548 in energy costs.

TIG also reached spending targets for the ‘Care and Repair’ service, managed 15 community development projects, and built and refurbished new homes for rent and low cost homeownership, helping people into their first homes. Check out this one-pager on our achievements.

Donna Smith, CEO at TIG, said: “Our services have made a real and tangible impact in our communities where our support is needed most. Year-on-year we achieve our targets, helping more people that are living in fuel poverty, assisting householders to stay in the comfort of their own homes rather than in hospital, and we are working to develop more community-led projects that benefit the local economy.”

“As we embark on our next year, we need dedicated people to support TIG’s ambitious plans and make a real difference to our local island communities. We are looking for individuals to join our membership. Members help us to strengthen our society and enables us to better serve and reach out to our communities, bid for new funding and more. We warmly welcome applications from anyone interested.”

If you are interested in TIG’s work and would like to be part of the society, fill in this membership application form and send it in to info@tighean.co.uk by 1 November 2024 at the latest.
